Carat Weight ~ Carat is a unit of measurement used to indicate the weight of gemstones. One carat is equal to 1/5th of a gram, and a carat is divided into 100 points. Thus, a diamond weighing 25 points equals 1/4 carat or .25ct. Carat weight is the most obvious of the “4 C’s.”
