The line is the vision of Massimo Gismondi, who brings into the creative process a history of seven generations of family jewelry craftsmanship as well as a personal flair for recreating that which is extraordinary in the world. Although the house is generations old, pieces created today showcase the most modern of designs. Each Gismondi 1754 jewel undergoes several stages of paper and then waxed or parchment paper drafting, then computer processing. The creations themselves are strictly made in Italy by a team of master goldsmiths and gemsetters.
Gismondi 1754 jewels feature elaborate paves’ of precious gemstones. Many of the striking, curvacious shapes of the pieces imitate animals or plants. Still others feature the unique natural qualities of flexibility and springiness. For example, Gismondi 1754 creates multi-coiled bangles and rings that encircle a wrist or a finger while presenting a cascade of shimmering gemstones along the length of the coil.
